Definition: Editorial cartoons are a commentary illustration pertaining to a current event. 

Contents of an editorial cartoon: 

Reflection of a current event in the time in which the cartoon was created
A representation of a fact pertaining to the current event
A representation of an opinion pertaining to the current event
 

     After creating the editorial cartoon, ask: 

·        How did this editorial cartoon reflect what were current events in the time in which the cartoon was created?

·        About what does the cartoon editorialize?

·        What in the cartoon is a representation of a fact?

·        What in the cartoon is a representation of opinion?

·        What was the opinion of the illustrator of this cartoon?

·        What in this editorial cartoon makes sense to the reader? What does not?

·        Do readers have more knowledge or more questions about the event illustrated?

·        What in this editorial cartoon makes sense to readers? What does not?

·        Do readers have more knowledge or more questions about the event illustrated?
