I chose the satire about the axix of just as evil. I think this satire shows that the U.S. is in a big problem with the rest of the world. Not only do we have countries hating us, but we now have countries practically competing to see who can be more evil. I found it pretty interesting.

    NFL Satire
Here we go again! Another professional sport that may be going on strike. First it was baseball then it was hockey and next it may be football.
The NFL may end up going on strike because the owners and the league itself can’t reach an agreement on the salary cap. The plan was originally to cut the league salary cap for each team. Teh current salary is one-hundred-five million, and they want to cut it to ninety-five million.
There are a few solutions that they could ponder about. The first being that they do cut the salary by ten million. The pros about this solution are that there will be more big name players in free agency, more oppurunities for teams with alot of cap room to get better, and it will provide for a little change in the league. Really the only bad thing about this solution is that some teams will have to part ways with some of their veterans. Another solution is to do away with the salary cap all together. Really the only good thing about this is that it will solve the problem quickly. The cons about this are that the not as wealthy owners will not have as good of teams as the wealthy owners. A prime example of this is in the MLB. There’s no salary cap in the MLB, and the New York Yankees salary cap is more than that of about five teams combined. I feel myself that having that type of situation in the NFL would be very unfair.
Therefore, the solution in which I feel could solve the problem is cutting the salary cap. I feel that this is the only fair way to approach the problem. I guess that only time will tell whether this solution will work.

Hey this is Minerva, I liked your satire! You did well by giving the problem and the solution in it. You provided many details, which was good. I think it could flow a little better though, and maybe have more explanation behind it. I do think that it sounds like a satire though, and was done pretty good. Watch for spelling errors too though, I found a couple of those!

I feel that mine is a satire b/c it provides a problem in the world today and a solution for the problem is also given. There is also a catchy first line and also a little sarcasm is given.

    NFL Satire
“Here we go again!” These are the exact words that Jeff said to his buddy RIch. “Another professional sport that may be going on strike. First it was baseball then it was hockey and next it may be football. What is going on with the world of sports man?”
The previous day Jeff did some research and found out that the NFL may end up going on strike because the owners and the league itself can’t reach an agreement on the salary cap. He then immediately called his friend Rich to talk to him about it. Jeff told Rich what the NFL’s plan was. He said, “the plan was originally to cut the league salary cap for each team. The current salary is one-hundred-five million, and they want to cut it to ninety-five million” he said. Rich said, “I think that sounds like a pretty good idea.”
The two of them then tried to come up with a few solutions that they think could solve the problem. Rich said that the idea of cutting the salary by ten million did sound good. Jeff then came up with some pros and cons about that solution. The pros about this solution are that there will be more big name players in free agency, more oppurunities for teams with alot of cap room to get better, and it will provide for a little change in the league. Rich then said, “really the only bad thing about this solution is that some teams will have to part ways with some of their veterans.” Jeff then came up with his own solution. His solution was to do away with the salary cap all together. Rich said, “the only good thing about that is that it will solve the problem quickly. Then the NFL will end up like the MLB, how the New York Yankees salary is more than that of like five other teams COMBINED. I just dont think that will work man. It will be too unfair to the not as wealthy owners.”
Jeff and Rich then talked over both of their solutions and they came to the conclusion that the most logical and realistic solution to the problem is to cut the cap by ten million. Jeff then said, “I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens man. I hope that they can solve it soon.”

I feel like you imporved your satire by adding a little bit of a story line, and it was good to put SOME dialogue in too. Although there may be some sarcasm, there needs to be more I think. Most importantly remember that a satire is: saying one thing, but meaning another. So just look at your satire and think about that. Goodjob though!

They should just not have a salary cap so that the wealthy owners have awesome teams. This will be great for the not so wealthy owners, because they will have so much money to pay for players.” Jeff then added, “True, if there is no salary then that means that the ticket prices will go up, and I’m sure nobody will mind paying OUTRAGEOUS prices for tickets.” Jeff said, “Yeah who needs a salary anyways right? Having a salary cap just means that players will not make as much money, and we definitely don’t want that to happen.” Rich said, “Well I have to go but I will talk to you later about this and we will just wait and see what happens. I am sure though that nobody will mind at all if another sport goes on strike because of STUPID money issues.” Jeff said, “Alright man I’ll talk to you later, and yeah who would want the professionals to make SO LITTLE money?”
