MINNIE AUSTIN ALIFF of Burlington , NC , formerly of Rock Creek and Whitesville , WV , died Tuesday, Sep­tember 28, 1993 , at her home after a long illness.

She was born July 20, 1905 , in Kanawha County , WV , a daughter of the late Charles and Della Mae Rogers Austin. She was a member of the Rebecca Chapel United Methodist Church and the Ladies' Aid, both of Rock Creek , WV ; and the Laboka Rebekah Lodge No. 252, Whitesville , WV .

She was preceded in death by her husband, George and a daughter, June Asbury. .

She is survived by two daughters, Arbutus Shufelt of Burlington, NC and Wanda Lacey of Frankfort , KY ; two sons, Robert of Wilson, NC, and Howard of Youngstown, OH; twenty-three grand­children and twenty-five great grandchil­dren.

TUCKER, Lessel William, of St. Petersburg , Florida died Friday, January 16, 1976 in the Bay Pines Veterans Administration Center after a long illness.

He was born April 29, 1898 at Charleston , W. Va. , a son of the late Ray G. and Flora Arrington Tucker. He was a World War I veteran and a former coal miner.

He is survived by his wife Inez Ellen Ferrell Tucker of Baltimore, Maryland - five daughters, Mrs. Frank (Betty) Jarrell of Dry Creek, Mrs. Howard (Patsy) Aliff of Youngstown, Ohio, Mrs. Burl (Mary Ann) Hall of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Farley Of Manassas, Virginia, Mrs. Arlen ( Nancy ) Crabell of Woodbridge, Virginia; two sons, William L. Tucker of Dry Creek, W. Va. and Lyle G. Tucker of Arnett, W. Va.; step-mother, Mrs. Mary Alice Cockran of Dawes, W. Va.; six half-sisters; Mrs. Helen Spurlock, Hammond, Indiana, Mrs. Madge Hopkins of Dmotte, Indiana, Mrs. Kathryn Massey and Mrs. Evelyn Jones, .both of Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Garnet Meadows Qf Coal City, W. O'NEAL, MRS. BETTY JARREll of Dry Creek , WV died Saturday,  April 30, 1988 in the Raleigh General Hospital , Beckley , WV , after a long illness.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon May the second Nineteen hundred and eighty-eight at one o'clock .in the Armstrong Funeral Home Chapel Whitesville , WV

She was born March 14, 1924 at Hazy, WV, a daughter of the late Lessel William and Inez Ellen Ferrell Tucker. She was a re­tired employee of the Raleigh County Board of Education, a member of the Marsh Fork Woman's Club and a member of the Dry Creek Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Frank Jarrell and a son, Frankie L. Jarrell.

WILLIAM LESSEL TUCKER of Dry Creek, WV, died Sunday, March 19, 1995, in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, VA, after a long illness.

He was born February 13, 1922, at Bellburn, WV, a son of the late Lessel William and Inez Ellen Ferrell Tucker.

He attended the Freewill Baptist Church, Naoma, WV; was a WW II Navy Veteran; a retired miner and a member of the UMWA.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Lessel Tucker III; a sister, Betty Jarrell O'Neal and two grand­children, Matthew Davis and Heather Webb.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie Marie Aliff Tucker; four daughters, Mrs. Roger (Sugar) Davis of Scottsville, VA, Mrs. Dickie (Dianah) Jarrel of Pensacola, FL, Judy Ann Webb of Naoma, WV, and Ginger Marie Tucker of Dry Creek; four sons, Eddie Tucker and wife, Linda, of Denver, NC, Bill Tucker and wife, Peggy, of Daniels, WV, Leonard Tucker of Beckley, and Tracy Tucker of Dry Creek; four sisters, Elizabeth "Bobby" Farley of Manassas, VA, Nancy Crabill of Fredericksburg, VA, Mary Ann Hall of Arbutus, MD, and Patricia Aliff of Youngstown, OH; a brother, Lyle G.
