Hello, my name is Cynthia UrbachCynthia Urbach

I have fourteen years teaching experience. Wanting the skills to meet the needs of students with gifted characteristics, I earned a master’s degree in gifted and talented. In the past, I taught history and later facilitated my school district’s gifted and talented program. Two years ago, I obtained the twelfth grade English position. Since 1998, I have created and funded online web instruction. In order to provide my students with additional resources, I created a class website, http://urbachc.org, that contains links to additional web pages pertaining to projects, class notes, assignments, directions, and other materials.

Hi, I’m Lin Robinson!Lin Robinson

I am the ninth grade English teacher and have 27 years teaching experience. Knowing that students learning styles are varied, I engaged in a master's program that focused on Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences. I obtained my Masters in Classroom Teaching with a minor in Fine Arts, and I am Nationally Board Certified. Prior to this year, I had limited use of the school’s SMART technology that belonged to the special education department. Since I had several inclusion students, I was able to sign out a Sympodium. Therefore, I created and incorporated content standard lessons for the SMART Board and Sympodium. I witnessed higher levels of interaction with my students in comparison to previous years without this limited use of technology.

We will present the methodology and  findings of the Action Research we  conducted during the 2006-2007 school year at this years eTech Convention. Our eTech schedule:

Professional development is our passion. It is our firm belief that the educator must use methods that meet the student, not the student adapting to the teacher's methods of teaching. Therefore, we are convinced that in order for the educator to stay current she or he must engage in ongoing professional development. We are in the process of developing and providing professional development for our school district.
